Most of us would not be where we are today without our first jobs. Now YOU can provide the same opportunity to a young person at a time when fewer employment opportunities than ever exist for youth.

By hiring a young person at your business, providing an internship opportunity or representing your business or organization at our career fairs and events!

Youth at Work matches young people with job an internship opportunities at local businesses. We make it easy for you to:

Why participate in Youth at Work?

It’s good for business:
Youth can benefit your business because they are eager to learn new skills and are hard-workers. Because they have so few preconceived notions about the workplace, young people make good trainees. They are usually up-to-date on the latest technology and tend to be less expensive to hire than their adult counterparts.

It’s good for youth, good for the community, and good for the economy!
Research shows that when we put youth to work, they are more likely to graduate from high school and become productive members of society. Youth employment improves long-term financial well-being, while increasing cognitive and non-cognitive skills, such as grit, responsibility, determination, and self-confidence. When young people are employed, they are less likely to be involved in criminal activity and are better able to attain self-sufficiency in the future.
